2025-2026 PBL Clubs

Arvestanots (Art Studio)

Project: Kerusus

One of the common problems among adolescents is "hunger"—internal dissatisfaction, both material and non-material, which, if ignored, can lead to serious psychological and social consequences. The Arvestanots Club offers a solution to the problem—a board game in which the player, by making choices, having discussions with other participants, and collecting points as a result, must overcome various "enemies" that symbolize these very "hungers." They must be overcome through healthy methods. Thus, a platform is created through which adolescents will learn to recognize their personal "hungers" and develop effective and conscious mechanisms for overcoming them.

CubeSat

Project: Project IBL

The project aims to develop science and technology education in Armenia by creating a practical and accessible locally produced educational kit, CubeSat. It will enable schoolchildren and students to gain hands-on experience with satellite technologies without the need to launch them into space. The kits will undergo local testing to ensure their quality and reliability.

Webmaster

Project: FilmerScouter

This year, the club continues the FilmerScouter project, which aims to help beginner and professional filmmakers in finding filming locations, obtaining necessary resources and permits as well as making Armenia recognizable in the global film production industry. The club collaborates with the Armenian Cinema Foundation, which will provide summary information about approximately 150 locations in Armenia. This year's main goal of the project is to improve the website, add new features, which will reveal Armenia's scenic locations and help attract foreign filmmakers to Armenia. Meetings with other potential partners are also planned to ensure the project's distribution.

Multimedia

Project: Identity Hub

The project addresses one of the most important issues concerning our generation—the loss of identity and values. It aims to show that culture is not only the past but also a present and living phenomenon that shapes our identity. The project unites Armenian cultural heritage and the eight principles of the Ayb student, creating a media platform where art, technology, and education intertwine. The film will consist of eight thematic episodes through which students from different regions will present how values are reflected in their communities. The project strives to revitalize cultural self-awareness, form values-based thinking, and create a living connection between youth and Armenian culture.

Green Chemistry

Project: Flextract

Flextract is a business program based on scientific research results. Our goal is to obtain a food preservation bag from experimentally developed antibacterial bioplastics that extends shelf life. This product will reduce plastic use in the world, chemical processing of food, and waste due to bacterial contamination, bringing our planet closer to sustainable development.

Project: CorAlive

Oxybenzone used in sunscreens has carcinogenic and ecologically harmful effects, damaging corals and disrupting the marine ecosystem. This project aims to create an additive that neutralizes oxybenzone while maintaining SPF effectiveness. The solution is planned to be obtained through polymerization or AI modeling, and its biocompatibility and effectiveness will be tested on a plant model, creating an ecosystem-friendly SPF.

Project: Airify

Air pollution in Yerevan is a serious problem, as harmful particles and pollutants exceed permissible limits and harm people's health. The project's goal is to reduce this pollution by creating innovative biodegradable filters for enclosed spaces, based on corn nanoparticles, having a titanium layer (TiO₂) and capable of self-cleaning under ultraviolet light. They can be installed in rooms, large halls, or other enclosed spaces, ensuring clean air and a healthier environment.

Project: Algaroot

The accumulation of heavy metals in aquatic and soil ecosystems leads to environmental pollution, while the decrease in soil fertilizer efficiency limits plant growth. The project proposes a sorbent based on humic acid, coated with alginate nanoparticles to effectively absorb heavy metals, especially molybdenum ions. The absorbed molybdenum through chelation forms an ion-rich solution that is applied as a bio-effective fertilizer, improving the soil's nutritional value and stimulating plant growth.

Vaverakumb (Documentary Club)

Project: FilmHarmonia

The club that creates documentaries will film "FilmHarmonia" this academic year, the purpose of which is to stimulate interest in classical music among youth and increase their engagement in the sphere of classical culture.

Art and AI

Project: Artsakh: Roots Beyond Borders

The project is dedicated to solving the problems of the threat to Artsakh's cultural heritage and the negative associations formed around the word "Artsakh" among us. The main goal of the project is to show a strong and living Artsakh, preserve its intangible heritage, and awaken the idea of ”hayrenatirutiun” in our society. As a solution, an interactive multi-genre exhibition is planned. It will uniquely combine the field of artificial intelligence with art. The exhibition will include both various works of art and materials created by artificial intelligence, ensuring technological and emotional engagement. As a result of the project, AI visual art, digital media as well as handmade art works will be created. These materials will serve as a solid foundation for subsequent educational work.

Rockestra

Project: Time in Music

The club, remaining faithful to its goal of educating society, will implement a project on the theme "Time in Music" this year. Videos will be published and concert-seminars will be organized about rhythm, tempo, meter in music, and other interesting and often unexpected connections between music and time.

Engineering

This academic year, the club plans to design and build a system that will make it possible to ensure monitoring of crop quality and pest quantity in intensive orchards.

Number 7

Project: Orgov Radio-Optical Telescope Branding

"Composition VII" is one of Kandinsky's conceptual works on color and form. Inspired by this work, the club with this name carries out branding of space, place, and experience, through which students learn architecture and social engineering and present the branding of some public space as a final result. In the 2025-2026 academic year, the club will brand the Orgov radio-optical telescope located at the Aragats Scientific Center. It was built in the 1970s, was considered the world's largest radio telescope for 4 decades, and was recognized as a historical and cultural value in 2002. Currently, the center is turning into ruins, and this branding project aims to draw public attention to this topic for the preservation of this structure. As a final result, the club will present the brand and donate it as intellectual property to the state center, and will also organize an audiovisual presentation with experimental content at the brand presentation event. The entire branding process will be documented in a film presenting the students' personal experience in creating a brand of public significance.
